I det forgangne år har vi som planlagt udført og færdiggjort en række afgørende aktiviteter som del af forberedelsen af det planlagte RCT. Herunder har vi gennemført et kortlægnings-studie om kommunal rehabilitering for mennesker, der har gennemgået operation for ikke-småcellet lungekræft, hvor i alt 100 personer fra Region Sjælland og Region Syddanmark medvirkede. Studiet viste bl.a., at der ikke findes noget sygdomsspecifikt tilbud, samt at kvalitet og type af de aktuelle tilbud er meget heterogene. Efter en indledende kontakt med en række større og mindre kommunale sundhedscentre og træningsenheder har det vist sig ikke at være muligt at gennemføre RCT’et som planlagt som en del af kommunal rehabilitering umiddelbart efter operation for ikke-småcellet lungekræft, ikke mindst grundet udfordringer med kapacitet, rekruttering og volumen af patienter. I stedet justeres projektet til et RCT med fokus på den subgruppe af patienter, som oplever vedvarende og betydende symptomer 6-12 mdr efter operation for ikke-småcellet lungekræft, og som så vil modtage tilbud om et forløb med sang som add-on til fysisk træning. Pt. forberedes justeret protokol til VEK, samt protokolartikel til kommende RCT, ligesom der bl.a. arbejdes på adgang/rekruttering.
Ud over fra Forskningscenter for Lungekræft er der opnået støtte til forskingen fra Helsefonden, Danmarks Lungeforenings Forskningsfond, Region Sjællands Sundhedsvidenskabelige Forskningsfond, Kræftens Bekæmpelse, samt Novo Nordisk-Fonden.
